Birth Hypnosis Training in Torquay!

Hypnosis Basics - 2 Day Training

May 18 & 25 - Torquay

9.30am - 5.30pm
$360 - Bookings Essential

Hypnosis or deep relaxation in childbirth means training the mind to let go so that the body can relax and birth more easily.

This training is a specially designed step-by-step process for birth attendants to teach women and their partners, enabling them to achieve deep relaxation during pregnancy, labour and birth.

It is a simple and practical recipe for:

  • Understanding hypnosis what it is and how it works as well as how it is a natural everyday state of mind.
  • Facilitating the hypnotic/relaxation state via relaxation techniques and hypnotic scripts.
  • Learning how to use breathing techniques as a tool to facilitate relaxation, calm and pain minimisation.
  • Understanding the body’s innate ability to birth.
  • Understanding the hormonal symphony that is part of the birthing process and how to support that incredible design to work simply and effectively.
  • The step by step process to guide any woman/couple to use hypnosis/relaxation in their labour and birth.
  • Clarity of expectations about your role as a doula/midwife/birth support person, not as a therapist.
 You will come away with:

  • A step by step process to follow when facilitating women through the process.
  • Effective scripts and an understanding of how to use them effectively.
  • Understanding how to create a unique and personalised process for each individual woman.
  • 4 CD's to practice and experience deep relaxation and trigger the relaxation response as an everyday experience for pregnant women/couples.
  • Suggestions for working with and stepping through fears.
  • The ability to instinctively bring deeper relaxation to all births.
  • Resources to give to your clients in your Birth Hypnosis practice including:
    • Overview of what birth hypnosis/ relaxation is.
    • An outline of the process and what to expect.
    • Resources for you to help with your Birth Hypnosis practice including:
    • Questionnaire to help prepare you and to understand each client’s individual needs and wants.
    • Client form – for recording important details of sessions.
What you need to bring:

  • Trust and an understanding of birth.
  • Trust in women.
  • A willingness to practice your new skills.

"Eve and the dandelion flower"

Today I reconnected with a beautiful woman and friend called Lucy who I supported 18 months ago with the birth of her daughter Eve. Yesterday we all shared lunch and a lovely conversation together and I managed to catch this very special image. "Eve discovering dandelion flowers for the first time". Thank you both for allowing me the opportunity to capture this moment and sharing these very cute photos. xx Kellie

Introducing "Pickles and Ice Cream - Birth Support Services"

Dear family, friends, followers and new visitors to this site,

I'd like to introduce you to my updated blog and business:
"Pickles and Ice Cream - Birth Support Services".

A lot of people have been intrigued by the name "Pickles and Ice Cream" and I'm often asked "where did the name came from?" or "is that because of the cravings women have during pregnancy?".

Well this is generally my response: The name Pickles and Ice Cream was chosen as a business name to put a smile on peoples faces and a giggle in your hearts. It's also easy to remember and a gentle reminder that birth and the support women receive around this time, can be light hearted and fun as well as nurturing and delicious.

In the meantime let me leave you with this image i took this morning of my new ice cream sundae mug that i purchased last week. I was in a store staring at it thinking to myself "that is so cute, hmm but i dont need it, nice colour though, ooh ice cream, double ooh, pickles and ice cream business card holder!" Sold to a very happy me. Its so cute... I love it and i hope you find it cute too.

Stay tuned for more to come.......
